Tips for using magnesium oil & why I use it!
Many people ask about magnesium oil & why I prefer to use this topically, so here are some answers to those questions.
Magnesium oil is made from mixing magnesium chloride flakes with mineral water. The result of this liquid form has a slippery texture hence the name magnesium oil.
Studies have been done that have proven that transdermal magnesium is better absorbed into the body at a cellular level in comparison to taking it orally. Magnesium taken orally is affected by a number of elements in your gut and can also act as a laxative. This reduces the amount of time the mineral can be absorbed in the body.
So let’s talk about ways of using mag oil that can benefit your health.
The biggest use of mag oil is to aid in muscle aches & pains.
How I use Magnesium Oil
The best way to do this is by spraying some mag oil into the palm of your hand and really taking time to massage that into your pain areas, your muscles & feet. For best results apply the magnesium oil over your entire body to help repair yourself from a cellular level, as in our modern world we lack this essential mineral in our western diet.
You may feel a tingling sensation when you first apply, this is due to your bodies cellular magnesium levels being low, with gradual use over time this will decrease. Also if you don’t like the ‘feel’ of the mag oil on your skin then you may shower after 20-30 mins, this allows the mag oil to do its job!
You can even apply mag oil to your scalp to help promote blood circulation which aids in the prevention of hair loss as it dissolves calcium in the hair follicles.
Apply mag oil to the head, temple & neck area for migraines & headaches.
Spray mag oil onto a cotton pad to pat onto your face for aiding in antiseptic treatment for acne & rosacea, age and sun spots but avoid the insides of your nose or eyes as it will sting!
I find sometimes I need to reapply mag oil on those achy painful areas, and taking the time to massage these areas helps with circulation and blood flow, plus did you know that mag oil is a natural muscle relaxant, aiding in a good night’s sleep!
